Ok I'm just getting into the jerkbait session and wanting to get better at it. I'm doing research on the best brand and leaning towards the lucky craft. Any suggestions on your favorite brands. Also what's your rod length and reel preference. Thanks

Megabass Vision 110 I love the Vision 110. It's been my favorite jerkbait for the past 8 years. The action these jekrbaits produce is second to none in my opinion. They have plenty of colors and several sizes to choose from. Great jerkbaits!

You might check out the 6th sense provoke line of jerkbait. All his stuff has second to none paint jobs. I really like the versatility of this jerkbait, as it performs well when being ripped and being just slow twiched along. Most jerkbait only excel at one or the other.

Rick clunn Luck E Strikes McRip is good deep but small I need bigger Rogue deep divers. Fluoro will help keep the nose down and the bait suspended. suspend dots are great for tuning too, Don't know the exact science but I think salinity of the water effects how a bait suspends. I use 6'6" -6'8" medium for shallow mh deep.

You don't need 25 dollar megabass baits. But you do need variety, as different baits suspend at different water temps. My favorites are made by spro, smithwick, rapala, and lucky craft. Get some chrome and some transparent. Rod length to me is dependent on your height, I have my rod tip down 90% of the time fishing jerkbaits. So I use a 7'mh w 12lbs fluro on a 6.3:1. Wait for a windy day with clear water, and you'll smoke em!

I like the Rogue in chrome blue back and golden shiner, especially the suspending models.
