If a hard freeze kills this stuff why can't they wait till it's atleast close to freezing and go out with maybe dry ice or something like that and "freeze" it. There has to be a contraption that can "spray" ice around and make a mat of ice on top of it. And water is free You have to freeze the roots. Only way to freeze the roots is to drop the water level enough to expose the roots for several days in sub freezing temperatures.

Chu Chu according to TPWD it has no roots. The brown stuff that looks like roots growing out of it is just another form of leaves.

I wonder if the spray will kill all the willows they have been planting the last several years and the other kinds of grass growing. That would suck

Joe TPWD has not been planting those willows. They came up on their own when the lake was down probably from seeds moved around by the birds.
All of the button bushes planted by the LFSA, Yantis High School and TPWD are well away from Big Chaney.
I imagine the spraying on Big Chaney will effect other vegetation in there. But I don't know for sure.

If a hard freeze kills it, it would be gone from Caddo.

Keep in mind Rodeo is the same as Round up and and very bad for the environment. I know they need to do something but I hope thats not the answer. We all need to do our part to help. Check your boat and trailer, Pick up something whatever little bit we can do. There's thousands of us out there. And surely we contribute to spreading it by coming form all the neighboring states with trailers live wells etc. The floods too. What we can control is our own rig and we need to do it.

While Rodeo and Roundup both contain glyphosate, Rodeo is for aquatic use. Why do you say they are both bad for the environment? If that were true it would not be the number one selling herbicide in the world and not be on the retailers shelves for the general public to use. Rodeo is safe and is used in water supply lakes when there is a need for it.

Moved to Sandlin - I will agree with Monsanto Monsanto's Response and this posting on page 379 from an assessment done in 2003 that glyphosate does not pose a threat to human health in water supplies Chemcial Fact Sheet rather than assume anything because someone thinks all chemicals are dangerous to one's health.
