Too windy for my taste. Gonna give it a go today. Might not catch many, but still needing to learn lake some more.

I did. Fished a tourney.

In my little 17ft boat and 55lb tm, it was a chore. But did well. Again proving that where there is a will, there is a way. My partner yesterday owns a Skeeter FX. Haha. Should have seen his face after I backed the trailer in and asked him to bring the boat around from the dock in two ft plus swells. Lol. He did great. I think I made him appreciate his 21' boat a little more. Haha

Fished LBJ with my dad yesterday and we only caught 3 small fish. We launched at 6:30 in the morning with 3ft swells at the end of the ramp. The waves were pretty much ripping down the entire length of the lake and they funnel in past the marina and right to the ramp We couldn't fish offshore at all so we just had to go fish docks that had been hit by the sun. Came back to the launch at 2:30 and right before I got off plane we came across a weird wave that may have been the biggest one I've seen on a lake! If I had to honestly guess how tall it was, I'd say it was 6 feet tall. The funny part of that experience is that we barely got wet from that wave. I think the boat hit it at the perfect angle. I'm not sure why the waves are at their worst right there by the ramp, just in that one little stretch. However, I have my guesses as to why: the waves have the entire length of the lake to build up and when they hit the shore and the marina, they rebound and meet back up with the waves that are still building and it creates what I call "water mountains". The two waves meet up and they look like a mountain. I'm just glad I'm able to get out there and fish a little.

Still not as bad as the waves on Pickwick Lake during the Summer....

Main lake points under the sand bass worked for me. Slow rolled a chatterbaits with a 3.8 fat swim bait trailer.
Today is going to be tough with this high bluebird sky.
Good luck.

Agreed! Yesterday the weather sucked. Today the fishing might suck. Hope I'm wrong.

Lol, it sucked at Squaw. Bumpy ride to say the least and we didn't catch them either.

We had a club tournament on Walter E Long Lake. Lots of fish were caught and several guys had limits. Fishing was tough after the wind changed from blowing in from the West to coming in from the North, which happened a few hours after tournament start. Our boat had big bass of tourney at 22 3/4 inches.

Fished Pines yesterday trying to figure out how to fish a lake that is 13+ feet high. With the wind blowing straight down the lake there were some huge rollers out there. Did not figure anything out but crappie. I will try again this Saturday.

That is no lie. We punted instead of going for it. Miserable day on the lake.
