I am in the Market for a used Ranger and trying to figure out if a Z520 will fit (straight) in my garage that is 24' 4" 's long. Hoping someone might be able to tell me what length (minimum) is actually needed to determine if one would fit in my garage. I the appreciate the help in advance!
Thank You,
Brian

I don't have a direct answer for you but maybe this will help. I own a Skeeter ZX190(18'6) and I keep it in a 12X25 storage. If I put it straight in with the motor sitting on transom saver I still have to break down the tongue to close the door and then there are only a couple inches left.

The Ranger Boats web site has the minimum length for the 2016 Z520C at 23'9" with the swing away tongue open and motor down. This is with a 8" jack plate on it. You do not have much room for error. https://www.rangerboats.com/models.cfm?gid=5&mid=7320#|specs

funny... YES ...It will fit...I had the same question because I have always had 18 footers because I keep it in the garage and I jumped up to a 2014 Z520C w/250MercProXS...now I will add it JUST FITS in my 24.4 space, I ordered the boat with a 6" Atlas Hyd. Jackplate...if I would have got the 10" Jackplate it would not fit !!! I can't vouch for a Yamaha or Evinrude on the back as they may be a few inch longer and mess ya up, but with a Merc it will fit.
Enjoy your new boat !

I have a 2008 Z520 with 250xs and it takes every bit of 24' 6".
It does have a hydraulic jack plate but I assume most others do as well.

Thank You guys! I have a couple I like, one has a merc and other a yami. I believe both have standard jack plate, probably 8". If the 23' 9" is right for 08-11, I should be good. I found a spec sheet in-line that said 24' 6". I appreciate all the help!!! Brian

Back when I was a kid we lived in a house with a 4 car garage that was 2 wide and 2 deep. My dad had to cut a hole in the sheetrock so that he could get the motor between the studs in order for my mom to park her car in front of the boat.
That may be an option for you if your better half will allow. Would allow you an extra 4". We only had to cut a hole big enough for the cavitation plate and prop since they stuck out farther on the older Yamaha's.
