Have been out several times over the last 2 weeks and am still able to catch 30 to 40 fish in a half day on structures in 12 to 17 fow. That includes 5 to 10 legal hybrids and an equal number of big whites and short hybrids. Also picking up an occasional cat and black bass and a few good sized yellow bass. Spots that are producing include Key Ranch Drop-off, Key Ranch North, Spillway Hump and Saint Annes Point East. Today water temp was 52 degrees and mostly caught fish at Saint Annes East. Fish are moving around and hard to stay on, so, once they stop biting, you have to move around the structure and find them again. With the water stained from all the rains, they can't see your bait unless it is within a foot or two of them. All fish caught on #4 silver Mepps dragged slowly near the bottom. Here are some pics from lat 2 weeks: Grandson Sam with nice hybrid: Yours truly with 20 inch LMB: And with a 34 inch blue cat:

Great report and fishing. Was working in the area quite a bit last week and drove over Palestine and cedar creek several times. Ofishially jealous of those i saw in boats...
Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

on 34 inch catfish. Mepps rules!
Why do I go fishing? To catch a box of fish and/or some quality time under the sun. Thank Heaven I never fail fishing in Texas, catching box fish or plenty of sunburn.

Thanks for report Dennis. I saw a boat in the key ranch area a couple of times, wondered if that was you.
