Have any you tapped a net? What kind of tape did you use? Did you go section by section? I don't think I could curve the tape so I think I would have to go section by section.

It works, it's easy to do just takes some patience. I've done mine with duct tape. A friend used that clear packing tape. You can do it in one single roll, don't have to cut it. Here's a link of how I did it.

Before our trip this weekend my buddy taped his. He did his section by section and using gorilla tape. Worked great until we found a tree.

Thanks,
Olen

^^^^^ This is what I did. Lay it out, and tape one side, then flip it over and put tape to match opposite side. Just don't try to take it apart afterwards.

Its supposed to make the net act like a parachute and open up in deep water instead of closing in on itself as it drops. I almost bought a taped net and then I think I read something from Chad Ferguson about not buying net gimmicks and I assumed this was one of those gimmicks. I would be interested to know how much better you guys think it works?

It absolutely makes a Difference to me-I'll use mine in all water except by the bank-

It is not a gimmick. It is a necessity if you want to catch big bait in the winter. I caught some shad in 44 fow today. Try that with a cast net w/o tape.

We had a 7 ft 1 lb per radial foot. Would have preferred heavier, but it worked.

Thanks,
Olen

Yes sir, like I said it worked relatively well. We were catching shad in about 35 ft of water when we found them there.

Thanks,
Olen

Taped nets definitely work!

Make a good pancake cast in the range of your sonar and you'll see how wide it stays open in 50+ fow.
