Like anywhere else, it has its moments. For me, I'd say it's been okay to good more than its been bad. It's not super fisherman friendly, but if you don't make a mess, and make do friends with the angry maintenance man, you should be okay.

Question on Grapevine marina slips-trying to decide where I want to keep my pontoon docked. Don't have the boat yet so I haven't called around to get pricing. Twin Coves is much closer to me than Scotts Landing. I am also considering Tower Bay/Eagle Point at Lewisville. If you don't mind me asking, what is the monthly cost/fee for the slips at Grapevine? Will be a 20ft pontoon and I don't know if I want a lift vs keep it in the water.

I think in the $3600 a year range. A lift will be more. The lift is nice if you worry about growth on the hull.

Thanks both of you for the details. I know what you're saying about the flooded roads....we've been frequenting RockinS since they opened and it's put a damper on our outings. Those guys can't catch a break.

That's the truth. Finally had a place worth visiting and it seems to have been closed more than open due to the flooding.

They should definitely have access to your boat. Sounds to be that they are just lazy. All they have to do is create a temporary parking lot and build temporary walkways like the other marinas on Gvine do.

The issue is not the ramps. They've extended walkways for pedestrians. The problem is the road into the marina floods. When this happens the corps closes the park due to the roads being covered with water.

That would be a good plan.

Let me know how the walk goes. I need to go fire up the boat and let it run for a bit.

So did you have to park at the guard gate and walk from there? Or did they let you drive in to a certain point? Couple of low spots in the road on the way to marina were under water with the last flood so you probably can't drive too far into the park. Will crappie spawn on asphalt???? (just kidding)
