So this question relates to my misadventures at lavon dam.
I found out quickly two weeks ago that my normal crappie set up was not suited to the fast current and long casting at the dam. So I used my gift cards from Christmas and went to buy a new spinning set up and several spoons and slabs specifically for that spot. Well today the equipment worked great but I lost all but one spoon. Snagged em all! So I don't want to waist too much money like that.
I need to re buy but I want a less expensive option. Everything I lost today was 1/2 oz to 1oz.
Who do you guys buy from? Any body's small business on here that I could support.

Ready go!
Thank you

You can always remove the treble and add a single.. That will limit hangups!?

I recently set one of my Kastmasters up with a single hook. So far, so good. I haven't snagged it on anything.

Ole uglie slabs and flys made by Sand Johnny. He posts in the whites/hybrid/ striper section. Excellent slab and fly.

You may want to try what we were using from the fishing pier at Lavon. I was casting a 1oz trolling weight inline with a very light crappie jig tied 18" behind it. The other guys where throwing a 3 way swivel with a short line to a regular weight and then an 18" to 24" line to a crappie sized jig.

I was able to feel the weight bounce on the rocks and it never got hung up. I had 30lb braid to the weight then 10lb mono to the crappie jig, so when my hook snagged, all I lost was an inexpensive jig head.

This was before they opened up all the gates, but the concept would still work, you may just have to increase the weight.

-good luck
