Not just a regular ole' fishin buddy.....but my wife! I asked her to go with me tomorrow and she said yes. My jaw hit da' floor. She's never been in my current boat and I can count on one hand the amount of times she went in the last boat that I had for 7 years. For all you guys that have this luxury all the time, cherish it. I think it's awfully special for you and your spouse to share common interests, especially fishing together. My wife and I really don't have common interests other than our kids. Maybe that's why we've made it for 25 years, ha! She hates to fish so I told her that I'll take her for a nice lunch at Sneaky Petes and we won't leave until 10am. She likes to sleep in on her days off, too. Should I surprise her with wine, cheese, and crackers, and try not to fish much?.........NOT! I told her to bring a good book and her best pair of earbuds. She can read while I try & catch few. It is expected to be light winds and sunny, not conducive for a successful fishing trip. But I wouldn't trade it for the world! God Bless You!

That's awesome man. My wife and I are the same exact way. Like you, I think it's helped us more than anything. 17 years and counting. If she's with me on the boat she's taking pictures of everything with her camera while I'm ripping some lips. Sometimes she'll suddenly yell at me to get the hell out of the way or turn the boat a certain way. Pretty hilarious... We pack some cold ones and have a ball.

You guys have some fun and be safe...

Very good post sir. Makes me smile to see a fisherman complimenting his wife rather than bashing her because she wouldn't let him fish!!! I would say have fun tomorrow, but we have already established that is going to happen!

I am very lucky that my wife goes with me all the time. Sometimes to my disadvantage. Her personal best is 8 lbs 15ozs and mine is 8 lbs 8ozs. LOL She usually beats me on big fish and sometimes even on number of fish, LOL Enjoy the day you have with her.

Same here, my wife is my fishing partner, and she can fish.

My wife likes to drag a crappie minnow from the back seat while I cast for bass from the front. Usually make some adjustments during the day so we both catch a few. She hates getting up early but always enjoys the sunrises!

Haha. Mine gave me her credit card to use to register for all the Bassmaster Opens. Does that count?
