I got up and got my coffee and went net cruising this morning and decided to pay a visit to Rangerboats.com just to see what's up for 2016.....It looks like the Z100 series has gone completely away with the exception of the 17 footer. They've been replaced with scaled back versions of the 500 Comanche series. Pretty interesting..........If you ever dreamed of owning a 500 series but couldn't stomach the price tag, here's your chance.......... http://rangerboats.com/

The 522D is a foot longer than the 521 (with that extra foot basically added by stretching the middle of the boat by that length, not adding a longer bow taper. In general, the nose of a Ranger Z boat appears a lot more blunt that the longer taper of a Bullet's nose. This would be expected to keep the weight up as there's more hull present. The 522D beam grows by 4.5" overall as compared to the 521. That's quite a bit of boat to be adding along most of its length. It results in a weight gain of 325 pounds from the 521's weight. I'm not surprised all that added size bumps the weight by 325 pounds from the 521.
At the more apples to apples level, the Bullet is 640 pounds lighter than the 521 itself. Bullet has very little on their skeleton website, so I can't see how a beam comparison plays into that 640 pound difference - a lot for sure. I always did want to drive a bulldozer!

I don't get that the 'standard' TM on that rig is still the MK Fortrex 80, and not a 36V system!

If you've ever watched the you tube video on how they build a Ranger you'll understand why they are so heavy. Speed isn't a priority but rather safety, luxury, and functionality. Comparing a Bullet to a Ranger Comanche series would be like comparing a Ferrari to a Lexus or Mercedes luxury car or in the case of the new 500 series so called affordable Rangers, comparing a Ferrari to Nissan Maxima or Toyota Avalon. They really aren't even in the same rhelm.......my two cents
