Can some one tell me if these are good rods and if you can get them without the micro guides. I'm not a big fan of the micro guides, too me the line slap on the rod reduces casting distance, maybe it's just me.

I like mine a lot and have had zero issues thus far. I'm not sure about the micro guides but I don't believe you can. I don't really notice an issue with distance either. I've been really happy with the ones I have. I have two 6' 10" crankins that are my favorite rods to use and they're very versatile IMHO.

The guides are terrible and actions are light compared to what the say they are. 13 omen, powell, falcon, shimano all make a better 100.00-120.00 rod.

I think the ghost series doesn't have micro guides. They have steel guides with no inserts. The micro magic has micro guides. And I like them for the money. I havnt tried the rods above this post

You can't get them without micro guides and for 100.00 they are good rods...if you wait for the fun n sun show and show up quick we will have some incredible deals...reason I say show up quick is because the sale will be that good;)

good rods. i like the ghost as well as the magic pros, really solid rods, i have several of both the magic pro and the ghost and have never had problems with any of them, but i guess it usually comes down to overall care of them.

I also have several of them and I love them. I've boat flipped fish that should have broken these rods but haven't.

They have 316 stainless guides that are a little smaller than conventional guides.

For the money, they are great rods and I've had nothing but good luck with all of mine.

I agree with the actions being just a hair lighter than what they are rated at, but it's a very small difference.

No guide problems here, and I've had mine for a little over a full season with fishing almost every day.

I'm scared to say it, because the deep cranking crowd will probably hang me, but my main deep cranking rod is a duckett ghost...I love it. I've gone through a lot of really expensive falcons and other rods, and keep coming back to this 1 ghost. I'm pretty hard on my stuff and have broken a few guides, but nothing a few bucks can't fix.
