I am not very familiar at all this these. I used Biffle-head jigs when they first came out awhile ago, and got away from them.

I was at the store tonight and picked up a few Strike King FB head jigs that are skirted, but swing head. I assume you get a little more action out of these? if steadily retrieved?

Does anyone have any experience, or noticed any difference in hook-up percentages. do you set the hook the same as a Jig, or reel into it?

Thanks in advance to anyone who knows more about these!

They work great. Versatile. Drag em or slow reel em in, hookup ratio is good.

I've caught twice as many fish on jointed jigs compared to regular jigs. I think they give more action to the baits as well.

Swing-heads are underutilized or kept hush-hush. I don't hear of many guys throwing them, but they work. I like to swim them, but I know guys that work them like jigs too. When swimming them, it's been my experience that fish hit pretty hard. I try to set the hook like I would with a T-Rig or jig, since the hook has to come through plastic. I haven't tried a skirted model.

I build a skirted FB Swing Jig.
- It has a large split ring that attaches to the head. The skirt goes up past it and snugs up against the head.
- It has a smaller split ring that attaches the hook to the larger one which allows the hook to be in an upright position.
- The head has 3D eyes.
- I can hand tie the skirt on or leave the rubber band on so you can change out skirt colors quickly.
- Skirts are made of living rubber and Crayfish scented. If you want to swim it, the skirts can be Minnow scented.

Each person you work with holds some promise to your future success.

I do not like the lighter (3/8) ones from Strike King. The line tie and the hook are almost 180 degrees out from each other and I believe that kills the action. I want the line tie to be as close to 90 degrees as possible. The heavier Strike King ones are at a better angle.

yea ive recently picked some up. as ^Alex Finch^ was sayung, the hookset should be really strong and i like to pause a true second before i do set the hook(especially if i am swimming it) because that lets the fish get the whole bait in their mouth. For the same reason i do a strong hookset i like to use the strike kingbrand wobble head because they feature a trokar hook and its alot easier for the hook to pierce the plastic. thats just my take on it, i love them as a finesse searchbait. anyway, good luck.
