I have a 23' FishMaster Center Console and I'm trying to run new throttle and shift cables. I spent 2 hours today trying to get one of the cables to make a turn under the console. The rigging hole is too small for me to fit my hand in and grab the cable to pull it through the turn. The only thing I can think of is cutting a hole in the deck and then putting an inspection port over the hole when I'm done. Do you guys have any suggestions?

More Info:
I was able to pull one of the old cables out but I had to cut off the plastic peg that holds it in the remote control. I tied a rope to that cable before I pulled it through so I have a rope to pull the new cable back. I was pushing/pulling the cable and rope when it got stuck but I couldn't get it to go any further.

Have you tried a wire fish tape? I use it when I run wires, cables, etc.

What would happen if you pull a double pull-line through the rigging tube (to be prepared for step 2), then use one line to pull the new cable into place from the OPPOSITE direction? I haven't seen your setup, but I wonder if the "other" end of the cable could make it through that bend more easily when fed from the opposite direction. Did I make sense?

Step 2 would be to use the second remaining pull-line to pull the other cable into place.

The reason I'm pulling from the direction I am is because the peg on the cable that connects to the motor side is about 1.5x the size as the one on the remote control. But you might be right, It might just not be possible to pull it through the direction I'm pulling it. I'll try pulling it the other way with a fish tape.

Success!!!

I tried running a fish cable but my tape broke and I lost my line through the rigging. Ended up taping the last old cable to one of the new cables and through much struggle got it to pull through. Took some engineering to get the last cable through but I was able to do it. Thanks for the suggestions guys, I appreciate it!
