After having my lure for a few months I think its time for a review.

The GOOD:

There isn't much on this yak that the designers haven't thought of. The flush mount rod holders have pre-installed rod leashes, the tank well comes with your standard bungee system but also includes straps to keep your crate secured. Two large cup holders, a cooler, and a awesome removable electronics pod are some other great features. The seat, well its absolutely BOSS! The most comfortable seat I have ever been in. The low back allows for super easy access to tackle or whatever is stored in the rear of the yak.

The feelfree lure 13.5 is just as impressive in the water as out. It is fast, maneuverable, and stable. I fish open water a lot and find my self standing in this machine while in the middle of lakes. While prowling the shallows I use the Lure like a SUP, just cruising along looking for something to cast at. With my transducer tucked tightly to the bottom of the electronics pod plowing though pads and matted grass is easy and I don't bring a super sized salad back to the ramp either. The kayak paddles quick fast and efficient. With or with out the rudder it tracks very well. The smart track rudder system is a must while fishing in the wind (wind drifting). the rudder system allows you to point the front where you want while drifting a bank. The wheel in the keel has been very beneficial, no more ramp rash while loading and unloading on the plastic eating ramps here in Texas.

The BAD:

Well neither on of these are ''bad'' to me they are just issues. There was a small issue of the seat not easily going up and down while on the water but the awesome team at mariner-sails has a simple fix and all lures that leave their store are "fixed". This kayak is not light at all. If you are car topping I would choose the 11.5 or the 10.

After fishing out of the FeelFree Lure 13.5 for a few months I would recommend this kayak to anyone who wants a fishing kayak. Its a very well thought out kayak and an absolute fishing machine! thumb

Awesome review!! I'm still undecided on my next kayak ! I've tested the propels and love the 10' and I use to have a ride 135 but hated the low seat and it was a heavy monster but that's before I had a truck!! I've been slacking on testing more and real need to! Oh and tested the hobie pro angler but that's way out of my budget ! The most I want to spend is 2 grand!! Maybe I will come up on a good deal! I really appreciate your review! I'm just picky!! Lol

Great review, but I don't see fish pics! How do we truly know that you fish from the awesomely reviewed vessel?

Great review, I have been thinking about getting the 11.5 for a while. Nice to see a review on one of these outside the FeelFree website.

yes you can have a rudder on the 11.5 all the reviews I have seen say it is definitely worth the extra to have it put on.

I have the helix 5 hummingbird unit on mine, and a 9 amp hour battery. the pod will hold a larger battery but I don't need any more than that for that unit. I went through two batteries in one year then bought one from mariner and that one seems to last way longer I have had it for a while now. the worker brand ones don't seem to last as long as the universal battery brand. that's just my 2cents
