Just take a grappling hook and drag brush piles to where you want them.

So its safe to assume you do not fish any brushpiles in tournaments at all?

I mean if he can't benefit from his hard work and sweat equity then others should not benefit from brush piles they did not place. Fair is fair.
No sir have not fished them in any tournament or do I intend to. Stick to the natural fish holding spots. Dont think it is right to fish them in tournaments but great for guides to take paying customers to. If it is not an advantage then why do it???

So you don't fish docks either? Someone built them as well.

I think you could call a lot of things advantages but the day when its wrong to outwork your competition is a sad day to me. Everyone has trhe same oppurtunity to place brush or to fish it. If a man can't fish what he planted then fishing piles and docks in general should not be allowed if you truly want a level playing field.

Who in their right mind would build a dock in an attempt to have an advantage in a tournement setting? One it's there for everyone to see and two it's just flat out non economical. Sadly one could assume by the majority that this is the direction they want competive bass fishing to move forward in.

A-rigs may come into play a little, but not as much as the other two. So, why wouldn't you want to place brush where only you know for sure where it is? They just better register it or they will be breaking the rules.

There wont be any a-rigs. Can't use them.

When ever I find a brush pile, I go with the Samuel l Jackson take on it

"Well, there's this passage I've got memorized that sort of fits this occasion. Ezekiel 25:17. The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of the evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and goodwill, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper, and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee!"

Then hopefully I get to set the hook

That lake currently has high water conditions and the water is muddy. If it stays that way it will be won 10ft and shallower. Jerkbaits and A-rigs probably won't be a factor in those conditions, if those conditions hold up.

Brush Piles dont bring more fish to a particular area; it consolidates fish that are already in an area if conditions are correct to put bass in cover or suspending above cover. Bass wont be in the brush unless conditions are right. And putting brush in an area that doesnt already hold fish, wont bring fish to that area;)

Well since all that I fish is Rayburn I guess docks are not an option there either!

I have no problem with them making brush piles to fish, as long as when someone else finds it and fishes it, that they don't get pissed at the guy. as someone else said, once the brush is in the lake, it ain't yours no more.

had that happen at Fork one day; found a brush pile on a creek bend and started fishing it. a guy came up (guide I think) and told me that was his spot and would I kindly get out of his hole. didn't happen; stayed there for 2 hours, even though I didn't get a bite.

Many years ago we placed at least 50 Christmas trees in Grapevine Lake using only 2 different spots (and the locations were given to COE at the time since we were using their property to store the trees until we had time to sink them). I don't think I ever caught a bass off of either but have caught a lot of crappie from them. However, there are also several places where I've put 1-2 trees and they have produced good bass off and on over the years.
