Has anyone been to El Salto recently? I went about 4 years ago and had a great time. Just curious how the fishing is since it's been a while since my last trip. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Type "El Salto" in on the Search page that's listed up above and you'll be able to find all the info. that's been submitted to date. I hunt and peck type and just don't want to do it more than the several times I've already answered. If you can't do that, go to www.mexicofishing.net and get their report.

Go to Ron Speed's website where a current report is posted. I'm headed down 2/16 for 2 days El Salto and 3 days Picachos on the full moon!!

Unfortunately you won't be there for the full moon. It's the weekend after that. We will be doing Comodero while you are doing Salto/Picachos. The reports are showing that all of the lakes are fishing GREAT right now.

I hope you guys whack 'em. I'll keep an eye out for you in the Airport.

Jackson

Correcto Jackson...luna es grande 2/22

We still have a few spots available during this timeframe at both El Salto & Baccarac.

This Feb. 2016 full moon cycle/timing should be outstanding this year. Good luck to all wherever you go!

Best,
dk

We are flying down on 2/16, to take a direct flight. The others arrive 2/16. Good luck at Comedero. We are thinking of doing that next fall, or Lake Huites!

She's a short, fat El Salto pig, that likes plastics when she's not snacking on tilapia, short walks on 20 lb test, and listens to ZZ Top!

They will be IN the lake on those dates, but really, with the recent agreement with the commercial tilapia guys, it's not as bad as it used to be when the nets are in the lake now. Some guys actually prefer the net days now, for several reasons.

Good luck!

I was just down there and the nets were not a big deal...In fact our guide said some of the nets were coming out because some of the fishermen were getting close to their quota for the season...
