This is very cool. A pvc pipe boat/kayak you can build for around $50. I'd think that with a bit of a platform you could stand on it and fly fish, and it looks like it would be quite stable.

OK, now that is one of the coolest things that I have seen in a while! Summertime can't come fast enough.
A little canvas deck behind to store the cooler and etceteras.

Interesting. I wonder how fast it is and how much control you would have compared to a kayak.

Oh I can see lots of limitations compared to a real kayak, but I can see lots of applications for fly-fishing too. I think it would be mostly useful in calm or slow waters. Maybe in shallow water too, doesn't look like it needs more than about 6" of water - well probably more for an old fat man like me.

That is more like a pontoon than a kayak. Nevertheless an interesting idea.

Kayak is kind of a misnomer, you're right, more like a smallish pontoon. For a guy on a budget though, it has appeal.

My little Moken 10.5 ft is built like a pontoon. And paddles like a barge. So this wouldn't be much different, LOL!!

I thought about a few Gilligan's Island episodes when I saw this. Only thing missing was coconuts and palms leaves which cover the PVC pipes.
