Headed out to RC 4 times since 12/20.

I am curious to how most people are doing in the creeks as well. The cooler weather has been here for a minute but usually by this time it has been cold for a month.

First trip was more scouting trying to figure out the creek since I have never fished it before, only caught a couple small sand bass.

Second trip was able to find what I thought was good underwater fish structure, caught 3 small crappie within the first 10 minutes, then nada, couldnt buy a bite.

my last two trips have been more fruitful, ended up with 4 keepers each time along with about 10 small crappie, and the occasional bass.

Was mixing up the jigs, best ones seemed to be chartreuse head, with thermocline purple passion or bonehead blue ice slim sticks. Was fishing anywhere from 2-4 ft when fish were caught.

Overall I enjoy doing the bank fishing since it is a small time commitment compared to getting a boat ready, launching, etc.

If anyone else has some tips for me on RC they will be greatly received, I am still trying to learn more about the creek and creek fishing in general. Planning on trying out White Rock creek at some point this season.

I took my boat from the lake up to miller rd today and nada, hell of a current. I couldnt get past miller rd the construction had some concrete barrier blocking my boat from going. A kayak could go but now a bigger boat. water pretty clear. water temp was 51 in the creek and 40 main lake

Tried a creek feeding into the Guadalupe Monday and caught 7 small bass and 1 small crappie. No white bass yet. That was my first crappie from a creek so it gave me hope knowing they are in there somewhere. Trip was mainly a scouting mission for when it warms up as I had never fished there before in the kayak. I need to get in better shape also. roflmao
