Anybody know a good spot to get minnows by lake whitney? I know they sell them at a couple conv. stores by the dam. Just wondering of any other places or some place that sells multiple sizes? Any helps appreciated. Thanks.

Can not beat the Bait Bucket in Rio Vista. She is a great lady and trying to make it as a small owned business. She only has large minnows , but that is what I use. Hate buying them from the conv. stores ,if so the best is the one at 1713 & 933. Forget the Pit Stop , they will short change you every time and you have to wait forever. I have a minnow vat and when I have to re stock it the Bait Bucket always give me way more than what I pay for. And she has lots of fishing supplies also.

I'd second that for the Bait Bucket also.

Thanks all. Ended up just going to the Chevron Quick Stop or whatever its called by the dam. They were nice and gave us plenty extras for free. Didnt do any good anyway but at least the wind wasn't too bad. I'll have to checkout that lady in Rio Vista on the way to the Nolan for the sandbass run.

It has not been open for a long time. The owner does not like fishermen , and wants to open a restaurant where it is. The store beside it has been closed since last May. Sad because we used to have so much fun fishing inside the barge. One reason we moved our boat to Harbor Master , they are more fishing friendly.

Guess not, what a shame. A really nice fishing barge just sitting there , and the store that used to sell minnows , and supplies and has 2 brand new gas pumps has been closed since last May. Just checked with my neighbor at the lake house , and our old slip were we stayed and he and others are in still has no electric. It has been 8 months now, but they still want all your money ! So glad we moved our boat to Harbor Master.
