Got there around 8AM on Sunday. The lake was already turning into a parking lot party for bass boats. Water temps started out around 60 degrees and warmed up to 65 later. Wind alternated from quiet to breezy, which is much calmer than usual for this lake. Weather was nice. Cold in the morning with cloud cover that graduated to warmer with clear skies in the afternoon.
I was able to get a bite on two lures: Megabass Vision 110 jerkbait and Carolina rigged Super Fluke in green pumpkin. I don't know what was going on that day, but I nearly had more fish come unbuttoned than I boated, including one that came up and thrashed around on top of the water behind the boat after the leader on my C-rig snapped. It sounded like an angry gator. A few came from up close to the bank near the bulrushes, some more at the dam, and I boated a fat 4.2 pounder on the 110 in the trees. A guy came up to me and directed me to an area of the sticks I was fishing and told me he was pulling them out of that area with a Dinger on a shaky head until he got tired of catching them. That was nice of him to let me in on his spot, but those fish must have moved off because I didn't get a single bite on that setup after fishing the area for half an hour.
About 4PM I called it a day and headed in. I boated about 10 and lost about as many. Not a phenomenal day, but it still beat a kick in the shorts.

Nice write up.
I once noticed I was being photographed (pic of 7lber below) and invited the nearby boaters over to a sweetspot I was tearing them up and tiring of reeling them in....and sure enough as soon as I bragged about it and they moved over joining me, none of us could buy a nibble. Never again.

That sounds about right. If I tell someone we will be on a good bite, it's dead. But when I tell them hey we are gonna go look for some fish and see if we can find a few that want a play, then we catch some fish.
