Its pretty dang good. Its not a step back in any way thats for sure. I love some of the more flexible options you have with what readouts etc you can get on the screen. Resolution is awesome. Brightness in sunlight and polarized glasses is great. I like my 10 a lot.

Have the 9 and can't say enough good things about it. The profile is definitely better as it's flat and like Mark said the glass is much easier to read in brighter lights.

The 900 series displays are 8" diagonally
The Helix 9 series displays are 9" diagonally The Helix 10 series displays are 10" diagonally The Helix 12 CHRIP series displays are 12" diagonally
Those are the Helix series that are linkable. The 5 and 7 are not.
The Helix 9 series has a slighly lower screen resolution (pixels per square inch) than the 900 series. The Helix 10 series has about the same resolution as the ONIX 10 which higher than the 900 and 1100 series. The Helix 12 CHIRP has about the same screen resolution of the 800 series= higher than the above.
Helix 12 CHIRP MEGA SI+ GPS G3N and G4N, 1198c SI, SOLIX 10 SI G3, Helix 8 MEGA SI+ GPS G4N, SOLIX 12 SI and G3, MEGA 360, MEGA LIVE TL, RC-1

I have the 10- to me I had a 998 and its much better than the 998 was. Down imaging better by a long shot and sonar has a good picture! I haven't look at my SI much but it's about the same to me

I just got a Helix 10 SI from David at Shut Up and Fish. Got it almost completely installed. Gonna finish the install and hook it up to the new 360 on Monday and then try it out on Rayburn Tuesday and Wednesday. I did turn the unit on inside my boat storage unit the other day and it was waaaaaay brighter than my old 898. I think I'm gonna love it. Will be ordering another one, maybe a 12, from David very soon so I can network them together.

I got Helix at my console and at my troll motor. I switched over to the bird from Lowrance. Let me tell you, man I love them. Such good electronics for the price.

The Helix 10 and 12 have higher pixel counts than the previous 10" screens which means better screen resolution
