I was playing around with some powder & material's yesterday trying to match a plastic for a guy and though this wasn't what he was looking for, I just got a wild hair and thought I'd try matching other plastic's. This is what I came up with to replicate the Bobby Garland Baby Shad Light's Out or the Panfish Assassin Texas Avacado

The bait I was asked to replicate was the BG Blue Thunder but I didn't have any body material that was black with a dark blue hue. The closest I could get was my size 8 Black/Silver/Pearl Crystal. I haven't heard back from the guy yet so, we'll see.

Those look good, I use newage black pearl chenille for the blue hue look, It does make a smaller jig but not much.

Pepop: don't matter if that second jig matches a plastic; it will catch crappie. And it does match plenty of bait fish. Both jigs look great.

For sure Ken, I love the two color tail but the way Pepop puts his flash in first he has that done from get go. Both of the jigs will be good in the water.

Thanks everyone! I haven't had time to just sit at the vise and experiment for some time now. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed that.
