How do you locate grass or grass edges when fishing s new lake? Use electronics? What does it look like on electronics? Is there a certain area or type bank that normally has better grass?

I start by looking at 10' or less this time of year. Of course that depend a lot on water clarity. Cleaner water allows grass and hydrilla to go deeper. I set my graphs to highlight these depths. Using a crank or trap I find it easily. Haha.

In this Side Image shot you can see the grass. This was early in the season and the grass was not thick but still very easy to see as it thickens up it's even more obvious.

DownVu really shows grass, and edges well. As I'm sure the other brands do as well.

The best way to learn is to find grass with a lure....then use your electronics to look at that same area. You need to know what is there first then learn to interpret it on your graph.

Before you go to the lake look at Google earth the areas that tend to have it are pretty obvious.
