Is the construction dam still in place? Sort of. It's not intact. It's a non factor.

There are people parking at the concrete. I guess they are walking further down and entering beyond the Miller Bridge area. There is also orange construction barricade on the east side of the creek as well. Parking is still open at the nature trail.
There is nothing to prevent you from parking on the concrete at this point

I imagine they blocked it off because all the people that drive off the front of the parking lot toward the creek and park next to it. I've seen them be in the construction crew's way and had to ask them to move. I guess 30 yds is a little too far to expect some people to walk to fish.

Also after talking to a few people I decided taking the kayak down RC would just tick off anyone bank fishing and will mostly just spook the fish in anything less that 6ft of water. So I won't be doing that.

So I won't be doing that. There are a BUNCH of bank fishers down there pretty often, but some spots are clear because they can't be fished from the bank. But any bank fisher can pretty much cast across the creek, so it's pretty narrow most places. I wouldn't say it's not okay to kayak it, but just be respectful of the bank fishers that are there before you, and hope they do the same to you.

I paddled a round trip of 6 miles from the mouth of the creek to miller bridge and back made a sonar log that will be available soon at the insight genesis web site , where you can sign up for a free account and view it . Next I want to try from Miller bridge to the Firewheel bridge. https://www.gofreeshop.com/ Freaking cool! Appreciate that since the water is so high now! They have started adding them to the map .. look under Lake Ray Hubbard.

So I won't be doing that. The creek is extra wide this year so I don't think using a kayak is that big of a deal. In most years I would tell you not to do it but I think you will be fine this year. Looks like people are parked and fishing at Miller Road. Guess when the cops show up and start writing tickets those are going to be some very expensive Mahi-Mahi those guys are catching.
Sign is clearly posted and they cut the orange barricade.
