All boat ramps on the lake are closed but the water looked like this today: I managed to catch a few, including this chunk that was a little over 3 lbs but it killed me to be stuck on the bank. Soon!!!

Very nice fish, you will know what you have been missing very soon. Good decision.

Why wait until spring? Tax season is close and you could have it rigged and ready before spring and be out fishing from it. I realized when I bought mine that I needed some things to get out on the water like an anchor and anchor trolley to help in the wind. Also rod leashes and ither items....you will figure out what you need after a few trips out in it. And then come spring you will be ready. And the addiction sets in

Ahhh. Life is good from a kayak. Ive only been on a motor boat 6 times my whole life and dont care if I never do again. The nature sees you and you get to see it. The fish fight is amazing, being totally solo adds a bit of earn it to fishing imo.

I can honestly say that I catch more bass from my kayak than I did from my bass boat. The range of a kayak is limited, compared to a boat; therefore, I fish a particular area more thoroughly and learn it faster. For tight areas near the shore, I can position myself for casting to areas that are often difficult to reach from a boat. Do it - follow the light and break away from the dark side.

You will enjoy fishing from a kayak.

Look at pirouges , they are more stable, but larger ones like bobcat or water moccasins have to have a trailer
