I bet I have caught more fish on a plain Jane bone knock off 1.5dd silent than any other moving bait I own. I would be willing to bet I have boated over 1000 fish on that one bait. It just works in almost all conditions and water colors. I imagine I have changed hooks on it 10-12 times, not sure what I would do if I lost it. I'm betting you would become a scuba diver!

I have been known to go into the lake, I just need to think about taking my phone out of my pocket next time. It only dives 6ft no need for scuba gear It's in rough shape and is one of the first baits I painted when I was using a epoxy top coat and it's yellowed but it keeps on catching them. Now that I looked at it I know it needs another set of hooks.

Bought my Yellow Magics when they cost 15 bucks. Bought a few Lucky Craft RC 1.5's at that price too and those were fish catching mothers. That tops it for me. Hard to swallow spending more than that when it's something I could lose on the first cast...

I've found more expensive baits than I've paid for. I love to fish, but catching isn't the most important objective. Heck I still have a Lowrance 480. Temperature and depth is all I need to know. Anything beyond that is complicating the process.

Anything over $12 is getting ridiculous for me, if I new that $25 bait is going to catch me a hundred bass on the next outing, I would do it, but on average that $12 bait will out fish a higher dollar one!

Made a trip to Cali about ten years ago and fished with Mickey Ellis of 3:16 Lures. He had me tie on a new bait he had been working on called Armageddon. I bought one of them after the trip for $300. He also had some baby wake baits he sold me for $40 each. I sold four of them to JT Larkin on here for $40. He turned around and sold them for $400 EACH to some guy in Japan!! Buy High - Sell Low. Story of my life...

My limit is about $25.00. The first Yellow Magic baits I bought were $11 out of Cabelas. Have a bunch of Lucky Crafts I paid $15 for at least 10 years ago and still haven't used them for fear of losing. It seems to me that the influx of high end Japanese baits has forced the US makers to make a higher quality lure but their prices relect that. I can remember paying $2.79 for Bandit and Strike King lure and Rapala was about 5 bucks and considered a higher end bait, oh how times have changed. I've still caught more fish on a rubber worm and a jig than all my other lures combined, not saying the prices of them hasn't risen significantly over the last several years. It's not uncommon to pay 6 or 7 bucks for a half oz. Jig, but hey they work good on that $700 rod and reel.

Most I have spent is $65 each for 2 Reaction Innovation Vixens, the original ones. Most I have spent on a 3/8 Yellow Magic +1 is $40. Most from Japan cost around $25, including shipping. Most on a CB is a Zoom ZEC deep diver at $25. But, that depends on what the current market is and where I am buying the lure from. Go figure baits as investments. LOL. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

This for me 10xd is the most money I'll pay for a bait period that why I had to start making my own, just too poor to buy all the high end stuff. i'm with brad You don't need to spend $15+ on a bait to catch fish. i think we all get caught up in the new bait theory where we need to spend that much to catch a fish when in reality we overthink our bait use. If we fished with the baits most of us grew up with we would have more $$$ to spend on the Honey and keep her happy and be able to fish more... Thats all well and good but 5he baits I paid a premium for are all old baits. Not new products. Stull like GIXENS Etc Before They Started Making Them again.

[quote=slim 285]I have a couple Triton Mikes Bull Shads that cost 50.00 dollars .
I have a couple of these also if we are not considering these swim baits. Below that I think the most I spent was $27 on a jerk bait.
Now I do have quite a few swimbaits that range from $25 to $160.
