Never fished on Lake Conroe but headed there tomorrow. I will be up on the north end and would like to know if they have boat lanes clearly marked north of Stow Away Marina. I plan on heading out from there and going towards 1375. Are there clear lanes up to that point?
Thanks

No there are no marked lanes and right now the lake is especially deceiving because the water is up and there are lots of stumps just under the surface in areas. The boat lane north of the 1097 bridge runs along the western shoreline of the lake but there is no way to explain it to you and be able to run it safely

Conroe has NO marked boat lanes in any part of the lake. Go South from Stow A Way and you can run. If you go North take it slow along the west bank, but you will have to cross to the East side following the river channel before you get to the 1375 bridge. Lake is full and there are a lot of hazards North. The link below will show the hazard map and the crossing area before 1375.

Here's the sat image of the crossing with waypoints

A few years ago, I went up the west bank and did some damage. As I was coming back out, I watched two boats WOT going up the east bank.

West Bank up until before the first jungle is the way to go if you know how to run it. I would not recommend you run to 1375 from a description off the internet. Right now with the water up there are a bunch of stumps just under the water line. It's much easier to see where to run when the water is a couple of feet lower.

The crossover point from the west side to the east side (north of 1097) is just past Sandy Creek and turning right diagonally from 9:00 to 2:00 and hugging the east bank until you reach east side of 1375 bridge. After that throttle way down and stick to the east bank.

Sorry about the 9:00 to 2:00 reference. I was a C student in Geometry.

This was posted to an earlier post on navigating Conroe. I've used these coordinates in my GPS and successfully made the crossing a few times. Hopefully this will help you safely traverse the north end but please be careful as has been mentioned several times there are a lot of submerged stumps and the higher levels will maybe give you a false sense of security.

Go to Conroebass.com.

There is a lake hazard map that will give you a good idea.

Any of you Conroe guys fishing the BBT March 12th and 13th ?

I am heading down there on the 10th. Going to try and get up north without tearing the boat up again.
