I am new to kayaking a few of my friends have kayaks so i picked up the emotion mojo angler. ive had an old town canoe that ive used for years and really wanted to go the kayak route. i looked at a couple the perception pescador 14. i bought the emotion as its a little wider and figured for my first kayak i wanted a little more stability. for now i will use it in a couple ponds i fish and a small lake called ratcliff lake or to paddle the Neches river when its lower. I plan to use it mainly in the spring and summer months. academy had these marked to over 1/2 off and the reviews were all positive. they said it was a good fishing yak decent stability treks well but isnt fast. what i liked about it was it fits in the back of my truck. the pescador id have had to get a rack or top mount or trailer. any advice or opinions?. ive been reading here awhile and have learned alot from all of you all

Don't skimp on the PFD or the paddle. Take it out several times and see what you need before spending money on modifications or drilling holes. Have fun.

Thank you sir. Ive tried on several PFD none of which i liked. Im not gonna put the kayak in the water until i find one that is comfortable, if its comfortable you are more prone to wear it. Im really excited as fishing out of a kayak has been a long time desire of mine. i bought an old town canoe first which i liked but found i was still wanting a kayak. ive been watching every video i find on this site and this site is the sole thing that pushed me into getting one. i was skeptical but seeing how yall do it made me want it more. i realize ill have to go slow. im gonna keep it on some ponds and a small lake called ratcliff its only 45 acres until i get my form right and build confidence.

I recently bought the same Kayak at Academy on sale for $300.

I plan to get it out on the water next week and will post an update. This is my 3rd kayak. I plan to use it mostly for river fishing, which it should do well. It's a wide kayak and has foot wells for standing.

Outdoor Fishing Magazine named it it's best value fishing kayak! I'm sure we'll both enjoy it.

Ill be taking mine out as well gonna start with a few ponds i have access to. the neches and angelina have way to much water in them now for me to start out on them. that is why i chose this over the pescador 14 a little wider wanted a little more stability, im sure eventually ill get something a little faster but for now im going to enjoy this before i purchase another
