I'm used to releasing my fish, but sure wish I had taken a weight and length on this big ol' Rio Grande. I had a good morning at Mcqueeney catching bass and sunfish alternating on "big gear", and ultralight. What a thrilling fight on this feisty Rio Grande... ....FUN STUFF!!!
Merry Christmas!!!!

I've never eaten one, but I've heard "they're not real good". Not sure I can answer your question though without "first-hand" experience. They sure are fun to catch though! Maybe someone else will be more qualified to respond to the question of whether, or not, they're good to eat...........Thanks for the reply!

Nice Rio Ryan. Would have easily beat my Catch&Release Record for Mcqueeney. Also a good chance for the weight record as well! Again Awesome fish. cheers

I've caught several of these out of Fayette and none even close to that big! And yes you can eat them, they taste fair, nothing to brag about.
