How many 10 pound bass are lined up waiting to head down stream? Or is this not really a big problem?

Just below Somerville spillway most years is normally only trashfish, and some catfish. After weeks of full open gates this wet lake-flooding year, flows were shut off during a Fall cloudy week and a major fish kill occurred. Of the thousands or tens of thousands of dead fish, mixed in were a decent number of black bass and a few for Somerville rare near 10 lb'ers. Seems the gates take out a fair sampling of all species and sizes caught swimming near the dam.
