Killed it at Lavon today,
Kayak Fished the Dam, and caught a SandBass Limit! A couple drum, yellow bass, and a juvie hybrid.
Fish where in the middle of the current jumble, the big ones where.
They ate up everything I done thrown at em,
Started small, roostertail on ultralight, caught 6-7 fish until one broke me off.
Then I up-sized, threw a slab, got hammered by chunkers.
I switched it up and to a chatterbait, first cast got eaten up.
Went back to slabs and got my limit in 3 hours.

Ha ha. Hard to keep track of how many sandies you have on a rope stringer and you are catching them fast. easy to get distracted by flopping fish and the excitment. Once at Ray Roberts I ran into a big school feeding at Buck creek. I had a two jig one crank bait rig on both poles but started throwing into the school chasing shad shallow and breaking water all around me. I was pulling them in 3 at a time and thought I kept good count. When I got to the ramp later and started putting them in the ice chest the count was 28 instead of 25. I let three that were still alive go. Those could have been some mighty expensive sand bass.
