What brand, size and colors are must haves? I don't fish one much, but decided to give them more time IN the water this New Year. Any sleeper brands and colors? I've got some red eyes and a few Bill Lewis, looking for other opinions, thanks!

I like Cotton Cordell Super Spots (1/2 oz). They come with good hooks and they have a little different feel than RatlTraps.

Xcalibur was the best trap ever made hands down. Luckily I stocked up on the red colors before they sold out. But booyah apparently took their mold and started making them so grab some of those. One knockers are the best

Savage Gear Fat Vibe

This is hands down the best lipless crank I've ever used! I took a hand full of lipless cranks (Red Eye Shad, Rat-L-Trap, LV500, Damiki Tremor, Spro Aruku Shad), threw each one in my pool and watched how they shimmied down to the bottom. The best shimmy I saw came from the Savage Gear Fat Vibe. It has a killer action on the fall that drives fish crazy. My dad loves to throw a Red Eye Shad and I out-fish him every time when I use the Fat Vibe. It's just an awesome bait. Be sure to pick up the red craw color for Spring!

The Yamamoto Midasu is a nice one, some great colors, and equipped with Mustad hooks.

The Excaliber one knocker 50 or 75 will fall with a shimmy and silent if yo-yo technique is used which is why it is my favorite in the winter or if ripping grass edges. Good luck and experiment with rods for the purpose to find the correct match as you begin to gain confidence in the technique.

+ 1 on the Xcalibur XR50. Gold with a back top is my fave color, at least at Joe Pool.

Cordell Super Spot (1/2 oz) is my go-too bait for a reaction bite. They are cheap and have decent hooks although I change out the front one to a red hook.
