Gander Mountain in Arlington has a crazy good deal going on right now on 13 Concept black Omen rods. Normally $120, marked down to $79, and an additional 40% off of that price. So $48 a rod!! They had a few MH rods still when I left.

I bought one when they went down to $79. Broke it on my first trip on a 1lb bass about 5" of tip just gone. This was on the 7'3" medium action rod. And was my second Omen black rod to have break. I was done with them after that. But for $48 its not a bad rod.

I'll let you know how this one does. Hopefully it doesn't break. I will be flipping and pitching with it, maybe even a little frogging too.

I think as long as you stay away from the Medium action you should be fine. The tips are super brittle on the Omen Medium action for whatever reason. I had a Falcon BuCoo Medium action that I put through hell and back and never had an issue with it. Just the Omen's
