I was on it 3 weeks ago. I see no one commented so I tell you what I seen. Water was almost at full level and clarity was 2-3'. Very windy day and I only bass fished. Did notice a lot of birds working the water along main creek channel. I've noticed the lake is below normal level today on website as of today. There was boats probably striper fishing it looked but 25-30mph sustained winds

Striper fishing has been very tough since the high water and the flood gates opening. The lake is very large and fishes very different at the dam compared to other areas. Where are you going to put in? Last time I was out a couple weeks ago the Black Bass were pretty common. I didn't catch them but could see them in the super clear water coming in from the creeks. That clear water moved the shad deep and I could not catch any so I did not fish. Water was muddy when I left yesterday after the rain but will probably get clear by the time you go. I used to fish exclusively with lures but once the flood gates opened and a large amount of the stripers went down the Brazos, I had to start fishing with Shad or perch to catch anything. Fish are still there but not in the numbers they were before all this rain. Got this guy at the end of October but the shad have gone deep since them. There's some fish still there but it's not as easy as last year when anyone could luck into a 20+ inch fish Good luck to you.

Look for the birds. Birds with loons are just birds and loons working together. Birds without loons working are your best bet. Water temp was pretty warm before snow and cold front. I start fishing again this weekend. I have been a little busy but I got my man!

That's a nice one Randy. That's one less deer for me to hit with my car. Now if you could start on those feral pigs that would be nice. I saw 5 dead on the way to the Lake House this week. I figure one of those 400 Lb hogs could really do a number on a car.
Let us know how the fishing goes.
