You could have your current prop re-pitched up 2" for more speed if your holeshot is great now. Otherwise, I wouldn't do anything because you can spend money to gain very little.

Speed was measured with my Lowrance HDS and trimmed out wot is around 5500rpm so I really don't like running full throttle, cruising speed is around 22mph at 4000 or so Many people don't like to run at WOT. There's no need to constantly punish your boat for a thrill. You still need to be propped to get high end RPM at WOT. If not, you'll dog down the motor running at the lower RPMs and that's just as bad as running at constant WOT.

There's a bottomless hole, it's got a sign next to it..."A little more" Many of us have made the mistake of jumping into that hole. Here's the sad truth, speed is basically weight and horsepower, you've got too little of one, and too much of the other. The real question, how fast do you really want to go? 40? 50? 90? Any number is possible, but each mph comes with a price tag. Now for the cold hard truth...go trade your underpowered 50 in on a rated 80, now you're closer to reaching potential, you dropped four grand on the swap and the net result? Now you've got a 41 mph rig. And then, you'll be back here wanting "A LITTLE MORE"...it's a tar baby that is hard to get off.

Leave the house 20 minutes earlier, you can spend a bunch of money and not gain 5 mph.
Buy a faster boat next time.
It ain't easy making it look easy.

so whats the problem with WOT rpms? I thought that was where you needed to be 90% of the time? for the sake of extended powerhead life??
