Purchasing a new Boat soon with the manufactors narrowed down to Skeeter.Ranger,Basscat, & Legend
My question is what was the primary reason you purchased your current boat? Don't want to get into a Ford Chevy debate just looking for feed back on what influenced your purchase, was it the dealer, layout, ride, price etc...
Thanks in advance for your reply

I have fished out of just about everything. I now have a ranger. Proven platform that they don't have to change every couple of years. Not the fastest boats on the water but the most stable platform I have fished in windy and rough conditions., and after all I have never caught a fish going over about 1 mile an hour. second choice would be a basscat.

Fishability first then ride/comfort.

I don't care much about speed.

I don't think you could go wrong with any of your choices. I chose BassCat for the ride and even more for their unrivaled customer service. They really do treat you like you're family.

It was tough for me. Narrowed it down to ranger and skeeter. Took me forever to pick. Basically coin flip. Prob price is what did it for me. Besides the ride and how they handle big water the end of the day a boat is still a boat.

I'm BassCat all the way for a ton of reasons but drive them all and make your choice, curious to see what you choose. Customer service, the ride is great and the price is not as high as one on your list. Also, they retain their value so that's my .02.

I was narrowed to Skeeter and Triton. Went with Skeeter because of better pricing. At the time I just got more boat for the money. The difference in price allowed me to upgrade electronics and get Talons. By the way I love my Skeeter. Honestly I don't believe there is one boat vastly superior to any other so I would go with what allows for the ugrades.

Purchased a new boat last year, to me at least half the equation was the dealership. Wanted same brand as previous boat, fully intended to buy again from previous dealer. Turned out previous dealer had slim inventory and apparently only interested in selling current stock. Found an interested and knowledgeable dealer 2.5 hours down the road and fixed that issue by ordering what I wanted from them. Another bonus is that the new dealer is very active supporting fishing tournaments, etc....

Bought a V-20 in April after researching and looking at new boats for about six months or so.
I has a Basscat and really liked it. Also looked at Skeeters and Rangers before going with the Legend.
Sartin Marine has been servicing my boats for years so with the prior good experiences and the fact that they were only 15 miles from my house definitely influenced my decision.
With the V-20 being the widest boat on the market and the fit and finish that Legend puts into their products set them apart from the others for me.

I was down to ranger and skeeter. Then I started reading about phoenix and they had the least problems out of any brand. Went and drove one and I was sold. Quality was outstanding. Also most of these boats will run mid to upper 70's and the ride is very smooth

I chose BassCat based upon the features I wanted, the ride and the service. Bought mine from the good folks at Rockwall Marine and could not be happier with my decision.

It was Basscat for me because of the quality and design first. Look at all the others you mention and what do you see on the console and bow panels...formed plastic or added panels. On the Basscat it is all fiberglass, one piece. Decide for yourself which will last the longest and keep the same appearance for years in the future. Then check out the manufacturing techniques. Basscat gives you details and videos to show their quality. And don't forget the trailer, Basscat builds there's in house. Do you know how many color options you have with BC? You can truly design your own without having to select from factory designs and color combinations. Add to this the superior speed and rough water ride and you will come to the same conclusion, Basscat.

This boat isnt on your list, but I'll put my input in anyway. Ive owned, skeeter, ranger, basscat, triton, javelin, cajun, and an astro. I own a Triton now and I plan to stick with it until it falls appart. Ride is unreal, gets on plane in no time flat, 21' with a 200 Yamaha and I can get 71 mph with 3 people. My second choice would be basscat. Almost as good of a ride as the triton.

Once you go ranger you'll never go back.
