What do y'all wear when kayak fishing in cold weather? A wetsuit or drysuit-type garment, or what?

I expect to get on the water on calm days, and would prefer not to be soaking wet & freezing.

Breathable waders or wading pants. Cinch the belt nice and tight. Good gloves that still allow you to fish.

I have a pedal yak, so I tend to stay a little drier than when paddling. Either way, I've never spent much money on specialized, cold-weather clothing. I just layer up for warmth and put on basic Frogg Toggs to keep dry.

Im looking at breathable waders right now too. Probably throw those over some sweat pants and a hoodie.

I paddled my kayak today. Breathable waders (good ones) over layers with a moisture wicking layer next to my skin. I don't wear really heavy stuff in the kayak. I had a micro fleece jacket over a fishing shirt and moisture wicking T shirt. Fleece pants under my waders. I never felt cold.

I'll try the Frogg Togg approach. Guess I can put all the scupper plugs in as well so I don't have cold water splashing up my tuchus.

I can't stand my feet getting wet when launching, even in the spring and fall and sitting in a puddle of water in my kayak is normal. I wear waders almost year round. Supposedly more breathable than GoreTex and more puncture resistant as well. Newest model is the new Guide Silver Sonics Zippered.

A good rule of angling philosophy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated.
