I bought some little gray rubber hook keepers on rods a few years ago but they fell off... I use rubber bands on my drop shot set ups.. looking for what you guys have found for keepers when you are on the deck fishing .. some of my rods have them built in but some don't.. none have anything for dropshots .. what do yall suggest I order that I can put on all my rods GO

I would have a local rod builder put them on.

Found this tip on BBC forum for using zip tie with screw hole...I bought a pack of 50 on ebay for $4 and they seem to work well...I like that you can attach them to the rod or the handle..I also put a small cut in the screw hole for line, attach it to the handle to hold drop shot rigs.. cheap enough and works well http://www.bbcboards.net/showthread.php?t=656644

I think they are called bait sack. Look them up. They work pretty well.

For drop shot I hook the hook on the keeper and use one of my wife's hair bands (black color) around the bottom of the cork rod handle to keep the weight in check. Works good and they don't get tangled in the rod box any more.
See you on the lake and have a great day!

I have been using those kind of cable ties for years after I tried the rubber hook keepers and they kept breaking into. I also change out the rubber band thingy off of my skirted baits like spinner baits, jigs, etc, using the real small black or white cable ties. Cheaper that having to buy new skirts.

This, that split ring will cause a weak spot to your rod in that area by digging into it...
