I didn't go out until middle afternoon Saturday and took lights with me for night fishing. I figured this was going to be a rare chance to fish comfortably after dark in the middle of winter. I fished the 190( at I30) bridge for an hour on Friday and my first trip was a skunk. I decided I would go back on Saturday. I shifted a new location on Hubbard about 1 mile away and had a bit better luck eventually.
I finally found them late Saturday and just when my optimism was envisioning a photo op of the new yak covered with really nice slabs, My phone rang. She usually asks me how's it going. This time she ask me if I went to Hubbard to fish under the bridge again and I told her I had tried a new location very close and I just found them. She said she didn't care, get off the water NOW ! She told me of the tornado warnings and I agreed to get off the water. I saw the dark clouds south of me and paddled like a mad man and made it home almost without even getting much rain. An hour after I was home the tornado ran right over the 190 bridge. I had relocated from under the bridge to a new location. Since the fish were biting I paid zero attention to the weather and was actually looking for a spot to tie up and put my lights out. I watched the tornado/news while perfecting my pucker grip on my recliner.
Turned out to be a good day on several levels and I left them biting. Now to get some more warm weather.

PS the new outback was a hoot. I'll do a report soon. There ARE some differences since my last Outback 6 years ago.
