This is the 2000s hay day Rayburn red (via my father). Given that I was between the ages of 6-14. During the trap years. I don't remeber much. I do remember a 9.9 I caught somewhere before 2006. Yet to figure out how I landed her on a trap. Bone color because the chrome was knocked off. Funny you pretty much summed up the "trap" bite. They bite the bait not the color or brand. Yes there are times when color plays a role but typically its the spot and presentation. I know some guys that only throw rattletraps but others only newer brands which are significantly different both in sound and shape.

I have a bunch of different scenarios but the go toos I keep 5 on board. 3 with good hooks. Water and wind has more to do with the baits. But you as well as I know, Rayburn trap fishing is nothing like anywhere else. There's 4 main locals on this board daily. Dallas fishermen have no idea. P.s. I've ruined many a baits try to replicate one. I'll find a couple cases at a store and shake them all to only buy one or two.

Brown eye will be one I'm doing for sure, I already have that in the plans to paint later in the week, it's really close to the summer Shad I do. I will also be doing a bone aswell that is one of my favorite patterns and is often overlooked. What type of ghost are you referring too? I'm open to all feedback on traps not something I normally paint or throw so anything is a positive for me. On the bone do you prefer a blk eye and blk shading around the eye or just straight bone.
