After some soul searching and the decision to change the name of my thumper. I decided to have a contest to get ideas from fellow fisherman on a suitable name. The results were to name it "Bobo's Thumper". It is more professional and is a great idea by Gofishnow. Check out the videos and see if you would like to own your new thumper. Then PM me or give me a call at the number in my signature to order yours today. Prices start at $200. Pickup in Springtown, Tx. or UPS shipping available.

Sorry, here you go.
I have started making a new bait and fish attractor, using the thump sound.
It is a machine incorporating a 12 volt, sealed, variable speed, electric motor, and a rubber mallet.
It will fit in a 10" X 7" battery box to mount in any boat.
I've tested the "HERE FISHY, FISHY" in my boat and it really does work!
Prices range from $200. to $275., depending on the available options you might want.
You can send a PM or call the number in my signature to discuss the different options and get a quote for your new fish caller.
I am located in Springtown, Tx. You can come by and pick up your newly built fish caller or I can ship it for an additional fee.

Did you answer this guys question? I am curious as to what it does also.

I was always taught to not make sounds in a boat while fishing an area. What kind of fish would be attracted to a thumping sound from a boat? I have heard of using "clonkers" for cat fishing but the verdict is still out whether they work or not.
I also know that an underwater fish sounding unit can call fish but the verdict is also still out on them as well.
Let us know how it works or what it attracts and maybe someone will understand what it does and maybe want to buy one... I wouldn't buy one for crappie fishing that's for sure. I make enough noise in the boat all by myself!
just saying.

I recall seeing a fishing show, about a year ago.....it was on Lake Lanier...they were striper fishing....they caught a few on hair jigs.....then the guide started "thumping" a broom handle on the floor of the boat....the fishing success tripled....I think this new fish "caller" should work.....JMHO...

I guess I didn't explain the concept thinking about people fishing for species other than sand bass, striper, and hybrid striper.
There have been many people who thump with an oar or broom handle, on the floor of their boat in a regular "cadence" or rhythm to attract these species of fish. Particularly, during the cold winter months, when the fish are schooling in deep water.
There have been scientific studies, (I know, everyone claims there have been studies. If you want the website, I'll find it and post here) that show all fish actually make some sort of noise particular to their species. Many people have thumped for years, not understanding why it works.
For the most part it attracts shad, sand bass, hybrid stripers, and stripers, during winter. I have had lmb, crappie, and catfish also be attracted at times. Though seldom does this happen except for catfish.
Normally any different, irregular sounds will scatter the fish. Also it will not work well in water less then 12 ft. deep. So the bank beaters will not appreciate your beating around them. It can be annoying to other fishermen, if they are not catching fish also. I normally try to stay at least 40 or 50 yards away from other boats, unless they come into my area where I am anchored first.
This device I have been making, mimics the thump sound made by an oar or broom handle tapping the floor of the boat. I have sold a lot of them, and the main reason people reported they purchased, was they can catch more fish without their arms getting tired, and trying to set the hook and fight a fish to the boat, with an oar in one hand. I hope you guys have a better understanding of the concept of my 'Bobo's Thumper'. Feel free to ask any other questions you might have.

I've been thumping for the past 3 or 4 years and can attest that is does work to drawn in sand bass and hybrids during the winter months. Looking forward to my new purchase of Bobo's Thumper.
