Have a brand new in the big marine stereo and speakers that I bought from Academy. I assumed it would just have positive and negative wires that run to the battery like everything else. How do I connect it to the battery since it has one of those "plastic connecting clip things" (sorry...not sure of the actual term...lol). I have a brand new 2016 Triton that I will be installing it in. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Best would be take it to the dealer! Hole saws and 60k dollar boats can be scary. Other than that it's simple. Hot to hot ground to ground and hoot the remote up to master power.

a new boat, I'd let the dealer do it right. otherwise you'll need to buy the other side of the plastic clip and wire it up the plug the radio in. it should have come with both sides though. you could snip it off and wire it the old fashion way if you really wated to

Yellow goes to battery +, red goes to ignition + (or accessory of your boat is equipped), black goes to battery - . Grey wires are right front, white is left front, green left rear, and purple right rear. Blue is for amp turn on or power antenna.

It isn't rocket science. If your boat doesn't have a accessory, connect red and yellow both to battery + .

Thanks for all the input, guys. I'm headed to Rayburn Tuesday through Thursday or Friday and will pull the new stereo out of the box and see if I can figure it out based on y'all's advice. I was thinking it had the plastic clip on the end of the wires rather than loose ended wires that I could strip and connect, but I will check and see.

As far as the speakers are concerned, I'm not cutting any holes into the fiberglass. I just can't bring myself to do that to my new boat. I'm gonna make a carpeted box that will house the stereo and speakers and place it in a compartment or perhaps in the floor of the boat. That way I can pull it out when I want to use it and leave it at the boat storage unit when not needed.

I saw a really cool box that was made for a 4-wheeler. It had cut-outs for the radio and speakers. I've been trying to find one like it but haven't been so lucky yet.

Google atv stereo box. It will bring up a tube that has speakers and a jack harness.

I keel the 8" speeder tube with Bluetooth in stock. 250$. You can also order a speaker box from tractor tunes. You can order them without the speakers or radio and add your own.
