Looking to make the switch from MG to MK.
Looking for the best price for a Minn Kota Fortrex 112lb 52" with Universal Sonar
I don't mind online but shipping could be bad.....Tackle Warehouse says it could be 20+ days before it even ships.
Anyone local have good enough prices to make it worth paying taxes?

Yes. We've bought a couple graphs, ram mounts, a trolling motor and a couple of other things. No issues at all.

They tend to have problems. I've always received clearer pictures from the lowrance skimmer/trolling motor pucks. I believe a transducer is also cheaper. Plus when you have one go out, it's a simple quick swap. Each his own but I will not order them on boats or my boats unless a customer wants it specifically.

Never get the built in transducer! +1 I had a 101 for 3 years that the built in transduced and it was a PIA. Lost the bottom all the time and had a lot of interference. I run a HB 998c on the bow and spent a year consulting HB trying to get it to read right. I finally just installed an external transducer and it worked perfectly. I installed a new 112 Fortrex in July and ordered it w/o the US2 and just used the external transducer and it works perfectly.

Originally I was hesitant to use the US2 due to concerns for interference and sensitivity but I have had only success running the Minn Kota US2 (built in transducer) with Lowrance equipment. I was breaking a couple of externally mounted transducers each year and so far with the built in transducers I have not had a problem.

I too have had only good luck with the built in transducers. I use it with Lowrance products.
