Normally ice fishing by early December, but with this unusually warm month, not a spec of ice in sight. Took advantage of our winter rules that allow for multiple lines, less than 45 minutes to get results. My first December carp ever.

Nice fish. What area of Texas did you catch the carp?

I'm in Southern Quebec, long ways from Texas. I still post here every once in a while as I visit Texas quite often, and lived in Plano for a while.

Spot I fished yesterday is normally covered in solid ice with some ice fishing huts on there by this time of year.

This was one of our boat ramps about 4 weeks ago, I happened to be out walleye fishing on my friend's boat that day. Snow on deck, rod guides covered in ice, as outer temp was below freezing at the time.

Finally found 4 to 5 inches of safe ice today, about 100 miles North of Montreal, kids caught some rainbow and speckled trout.

My 15 year old beat his record with this nice 18 inch / 2.5 lbs rainbow:

Tons of fun with the kids. That was further up North and at higher elevation, still waiting for safe ice to form closer to home. Cold front should dip us into the -20 range for a couple nights, so should have some ice around here later this week, as long as the 18 inches of snow doesn't provide too much insulation. Probably a foreign concept to most of y'all on this forum.
