Is anyone using this to manage waypoints or routes? If so, is it worth using, or not worth the effort? Any input or feedback is appreciated. I recently purchased a 93SV and I haven't unlocked the maps from the unit to my MAC - just looking for feedback before I put the effort into it.

HomePort software is very useful. No doubt, download it. I've been using it for about a year. Much easier and more efficient managing/editing your data with HomePort than directly on the units. Plus, as you indicate, you can view the mapping from either your unit (by downloading to an SD card) or a LakeVu mapping card directly on HomePort.

I loaded my maps from the 93sv to my Mac and I'm using the HomePort application now. It seems to work well and is very detailed.

It would be nice if the forum would have a dedicated Garmin thread - seems as if there are enough users and the base continues to grow.
