I have two 8' tica rods, I would go med. you will want a good hook set especially this time of the year when the crappie are deep in most lakes. Great Rods I've had mine for two years and I use them 90% of the time. Talk to Radley at tica he usually answers the phone. Good luck

I find it hard to believe that you would pay that much for a rod. roflmao

I have three medium action, one piece that I no longer use. All in excellent condition. All have been shortened on the butt 3" to better balance out the rod. $40 each.

I got one of the Tica SLHA one piece 7.5 medium light which has more than enough backbone for graphite and the blank is sensitive and has an nice overall parabolic action for crappie. Maybe it is an older similar model judging by the pictures. It has a drop or two of errant epoxy on some of the eyes but other than that just fine. I'd say if the rod you are looking at is made with Tica's second or third tier of graphite, i.e. tc2 or tc3 it is probably worth it.

The TICA Rods I currently have (8 Foot) are a 1 piece and I've been using them for years. Back when they were going to discontinue the model I snagged them for $40 each.

I recently bought 2 of the rods you are looking at in 8 foot. The LIBRA model 8 Foot / SMHAL2 Light. They do offer a 1 piece in that version as well. I got them and they look great! I've been working so much I have not had a chance to try them out. I bought a couple G rods as well, but have not had a chance to try them yet either. They also look great.

You could buy one in Light and the other in Medium and give them both a try and see which one you like best for you. Either keep them both or send the one you don't want back. I'm a Prime member at Amazon as well and that is how I ordered my rods.

You will become a TICA fan they are Great!!!
