The wife and I will be heading out to a cabin on Lake Tyler for four nights beginning tomorrow. We're going to celebrate the holiday with family and friends but there is no way I'm staying on a lake and not get some fishing in. I've offered a few people to come along and I'm sure the wife will bring her camera and take some nice pictures while out as well.
Anyways, I've only fished it a few times and the last time was back in early summer. If anyone would be willing to give me some details on how the fishing has been lately and lake conditions it would be really appreciated.
I like fishing offshore but I'm not sure this lake is setup that way. Any info to eliminate water is welcomed also.
Merry Christmas and I'll let you guys know how I did and add some nice photos... Thanks

Can't go wrong with the boathouses, at least 300 or so on it. As for offshore, mainlake humps have a lot traffic and schools moving through them. With limited time, I'd go with the boathouse and a texas rig or jig?

Thanks mate... I'll have to graph some offshore structure then. I can do this at night also to give me more time during the day to fish. The weather is showing to be warm with some rain possible. Can't wait... I'm totally stoked.

Lots of brush piles around...Points, humps etc...With the lake being full, should be some boathouse fish! Throw a trap some!

Sounds good. Yeah I'll definitely have my rain gear handy. Anyone know what the lake temp and water clarity has been like? Also, what colors work well? Thanks for all the input thus far everyone.

Caught a couple this morning throwing a square bill around some docks. Took Brody out with me too. He's never been on a boat and it was a perfect time to see how he would do. He did really well and we had a good time. I was just praying that we wouldn't jump out with me having a fish on lol.

Found the mother load this morning on a point. Almost every cast for a couple of hours I had one in the boat. Nothing HUGE but some very nice chunks. I could have given them boys on MLF a run for their money haha. Noticed quite a few had black spots on them. Some even on their mouth and tail. Here's a pic of beautiful Lake Tyler specimen. Thanks again for all the help and Merry Christmas to you all.
