Is the fishing slow everywhere or is it just me? I went to cedar creek a few days ago and caught 2 on a jig. Went to Athens today and caught one on a shaky head. I have trown everything in the boat deep shallow found the bait and still nothing? Starting to think I don't know how to fish.

Same here...My little ponds are even fishing slow. They are usually a slugfest.

I'm not 100%, but I bet it would be the 12 cold fronts we have had blow through in the past 3 weeks. It's getting pretty annoying.

I don't think it's all the cold fronts because it has been pretty mild. I think all the rain and fluctuating lake levels may be more of a factor. The lakes close to me are closed due to high water once again, I haven't been fishing in awhile. I am getting the southern version of cabin fever. I need to do a few things to my boat, but if the weather stays mild, I will take a trip to east Texas before long I hope. Slow fishing is better than no fishing. Lol

Man, I am sorry to hear that. I hope he gets on some good ones. Your mother is great for doing that for him. But, OP, yes for me at least....all the muddy water, fluctuating water levels, warm/cold....all have contributed to not very good fishing now - tough. At least over here around DFW. May God Bless you and watch over your father... God Bless Lee Yea my dad is not doing well we just found out that he has cancer and anyway my mother is driving him out here next week was hoping to put him on some fish on his short stay in tx

I had a couple of great days last week. Wednesday probably 40 fish and Saturday 26, (we counted) almost all on the A-rig on breaks in 15-20 fow. Most of the fish were the same size too, 2-3/4 to 3 lbs with a bigger and a smaller mixed in. I actually caught three at once on Wednesday and my wife did the same on Saturday. Numerous two at a time. It was absolutely awesome. The lake was a slight bit off color but it is normally a crystal clear lake so it wasn't as dirty as others probably are. I guess I should post the lake name....Hawkins. Even replaced a couple of boards on the trailer and ate a great pizza at the Italian restaurant there.
