Trying to decide whether to use a fluoro leader with the braid, or tie braid direct to the jig, for pitching in grass. Which do you do?

I normally use straight braid, but one particular lake I fish, it seems the better fish come with a flouro leader. I can get bite on straight braid, but the bigger fish hit the flouro leader, so I keep one of each rigged up all the time. That's just me and it's just one lake.

Thanks for the additional replies. Fishing tomorrow, I hope, and will use straight braid. Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas, and lot of good fishing next year.

Pitching Grass should not need a Fluor/Leader. AND the knot could tend to snag.

Ok... clear water, around rock, where they can see a long ways... ok I get it... And I do it, and it works great.
In GRASS... WHY
their are 65198149812198412519814501651984651651 little stems and leaves and straight lines from the stems any way... So why??? all your gona do is increase the chance YOU mess up a knot and it breaks???
you ever see the elites use fluro leader in Florida??? me either...
and yes the knot is gona get stuff on it... and that will be annoying...
Straight braid, get u a sharpie and mark the first 3 foot or so black.

More than 2-3 feet of visibility I tie on a 20 or 25 lb leader. Less than 2 I go straight braid. I honestly cannot remember a time when I've had a leader knot failure btw, even in some seriously gnarly stuff. That said, I fish out of a kayak and usually go directly to the fish if it's not coming easily through the grass or pads. That helps I think.

straight braid or heavy fluorocarbon. Depends on water clarity and pressure of the fish. That braid will make sounds coming through that grass. It's not a one size fits all

Straight Braid regardless of water clarity. They can't tell the difference between the strands of grass and the braid.... Don't over-think it.
