I bought a helix 5 sonar/gps with ram mount. Transducer will need to be through hull because of hull design. This is a small 14 ft electric boat and the transducer would be submerged if I transom mount it. Should I mount it thru hull or do a trolling motor mount?

Do I use the same transom transducer with a trolling motor attachment for mounting on the trolling motor or do I need a different one for the Helix 5 sonar/GPS unit

You need to find the Sheild for your unit. You can't beat them off with a hammer and they are worth the money.

^^^^^^^^^^
This. I had one for my Onix transducer and now have one for my Helix. Nice fit, nice look. Can't beat it.
